fade to grey

past

K Lindfors have fore several years been working with issues concerning art and identity, and the perception of such.

- I see myself as a conceptual artist because I let the idea chose the material, and not the other way around -

In many of his work he uses his own body to test an idea, and is not restricted to any –ism. This started in 2003 when he photographed a wax sculpture of himself that was passed (unawarily) by the Swedish police as a passport photo. It was a way to combine authority, art and identity in a very direct way. A theme that is constantly present in Lindfors' work is the outside observation of oneself, but not in the traditional way of selfportrait. Instead he uses the observers point of vies as a mirror reflecting both ways. A narcissistic way to study the aroundings.

- I started as a painter but it wasn't until I experimented with moulds and made plaster copies of the paintings that I found them interesting. The copy was more complex than the original. On the question of why he uses his own body so frequently in his work the simple answer was -

I'm always available.
